A Note from Pastor Keseley

Greetings!

I have the joy of serving as the Pastor of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, a fabulous faith community in Burke, Virginia. I first felt called to be a pastor while in middle school, so I am lucky enough to have my dream job.

I absolutely love being a pastor! I consider it a great privilege to be able to walk with people throughout their lives as they grow in faith and in their relationship with God. I especially enjoy preaching, teaching and counseling. Abiding Presence is an energetic congregation where no day is ever the same as the previous day, which keeps me always learning and doing new things.

I grew up in the DC suburbs on the Maryland side, so Northern Virginia is not too far from home. I have degrees from Susquehanna University and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Before coming to Abiding Presence in February of 2010, I served as the Associate Pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Washington, DC.

Julia would probably tell you that her favorite thing we do together is going to the playground. We also enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants and all things DC. Ben and I are novice wine collectors who are beginning to explore Virginia's wine country.

I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know you whether you are new to the area in search of a church home or haven't ever really been to church and are just searching. If there are ways that I can help support you or if you have questions about God, faith or this congregation, please do not hesitate to be in touch. I can be reached through email or phone through the church office at 703-455-7500.

Blessings,

Rev. Meredith Lovell Keseley
