3rd - 6th Grade
Abiding Presence knows that later elementary school youth are filled with energy and are able to start stretching their faith. We seek to provide them with opportunities to learn and grow as well as to begin taking on leadership roles.
Upcoming Special Events in April 2012
The 3rd-6th grade youth will be participating in Shema, an event sponsored by the Metro DC Synod Youth Ministry. Registration forms and more information are available from Pastor Keseley or Vicar Bankert.
Sunday School
The 3rd-4th grade and 5th-6th grade classes participate in chapel from 9:45 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and then meet for a Bible Story, craft or game and snack from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
Puppet Team
Beginning in 3rd grade kids can join our puppet team which is made up of kids, teens and adults. The team practices on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m.-6:15 p.m. and takes part in chapel leadership each Sunday.
Spirits! Youth Group
Youth Group meets during Wednesday Night Gathering for a lesson, games and team building. They also have special events throughout the year.
Sonrise Singers Choir
Choir meets with Miss Lori during Wednesday Night Gathering. The kids occasionally sing in church and take part in the annual spring children’s musical.
Christ Chimers Choir
This handchime choir is open to 4th-8th graders. They rehearse during Wednesday Night Gathering and play occasionally during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Kids learn about worship and music in addition to how to play the chimes.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School takes place the 3rd week of July each summer from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. There is music, games, crafts, snack, Bible stories and lots of fun. Kids ages 3 through 6th grade can take part in Vacation Bible School. The 2011 theme is "Pandamania: Where God is Wild about You!" Click here for more information about our 2011 VBS program.
