“Waffles & W(ii)e” on Sunday Mornings

Senior High youth gather in the youth room on Sunday mornings from 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. to eat waffles, play Wii and, most importantly, to talk about what it means to be “We, the body of Christ” in the world. 

Summer Mission Trip

Every summer the Senior High and college age youth from Abiding Presence go on a weeklong domestic mission trip to help low income residents with much needed home repairs.  The mission trip, through Group Workcamps, is a great way to meet other youth from across the country, serve God and grow in faith.

ELCA National Youth Gathering

Every three years the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (link to www.elca.org) hosts the National Youth Gathering that brings together approximately 30,000 youth for five days of faith and service.  The next National Youth Gathering is in July 2012 and the Abiding Presence youth are already planning and preparing.  More information about the National Youth Gathering is available at http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Ministry/Youth-Ministry/Youth-Gathering.aspx.
