ECHO February Food Drive

February is "Food for ECHO" month at Abiding Presence. Please bring non-perishable foods or personal hygiene items and place them in the ECHO grocery cart.  Our ECHO representatives, Roger and Marty Eisinger, will transport the collected foods to ECHO.  If you take your donations directly to ECHO at 7205 Old Keene Mill Road, please tell the door volunteer that you are from Abiding Presence so that your donations can be recorded. ECHO distributes food to clients in paper grocery bags, which are also needed. All food is welcome, but ECHO is currently low on the following items: pancake syrup, coffee/tea, tomato sauce/paste, condiments, paper products, laundry detergent, vegetable oil, sugar (2 pound size), flour (2 pound size), dry milk.

ECHO can also use these clothing items: children's & adults' new white socks & underwear, men's shirts (size S), men's (sizes 34 and under), children's winter coats.

ECHO is currently in need of volunteers for Wednesday evenings from 7:00 until 9:00 pm to greet donors and help lift and move donated clothing, food, etc.  Receiving donations is a very happy job, and ECHO only asks for a commitment for once or twice a month.  If you would like to find out more about this job, or any other volunteer needs, send an e-mail to echoadmin(at)verizon.net.

ECHO Needs

ECHO is looking for a volunteer or team of volunteers to research and organize all the information on government and non-government services and resources that are available to assist clients living within ECHO's service area.  ECHO administrators can help such a volunteer or team get started.  If this is a project that sounds interesting to you, please contact Meg Brantley at echoadmin(at)verizon.net to discuss it.Volunteer_working.jpg
