Love without Boundaries (LWB)

Abiding Presence supports the work of Love without Boundaries in reaching out to orphans in need in China in a variety of ways. 

Healing Homes

Currently LWB has four healing homes in China that care for children with medical conditions who otherwise may not survive in an orphanage.  These homes give these children the care they need to live.  The funds raised by this event are essential to keep these homes running.  The church women's group (WELCA) provides the food and the manpower to make this evening a huge success.

Red Envelope Campaign for orphaned children

Chinese New Year, celebrated January 23rd this year, is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.  Families celebrate together, but there are many children in China without families to celebrate with them.  This year, to honor those children and make a difference in their lives, Abiding Presence is joining forces with Love Without Boundaries (LWB) to give a New Year's gift to an orphan.

The Red Envelope Campaign will help feed 75 children in Love Without Boundaries' "Believe in Me" school in the Huainan orphanage.  This school was opened to provide the joy of education to children who would otherwise be unable to attend school.  While the children delight in learning and expanding their horizons in this school, the sad reality is that many of the children are hungry.  This orphanage is a rural facility with very meager resources.  LWB has made a commitment to these children to help them with better nutrition.  Our older child nutrition program will provide the children in our school with much needed protein, which they rarely get.  For less than $1 a child, they receive a fresh or dried protein snack, as well as fruit and milk several times a week.  However this is an expense of nearly $1,000 a month.
