In
June the Church Council decided to work with Kairos and Pastor Renee
LiaBraaten to conduct a Resource Assessment with the goal of assessing
the congregational commitment to moving ahead with the Sanctuary
Remodeling effort and the Capital Fund Campaign at this time. Pastor
LiaBraaten presented her report at all three services on September 19
and 20 and answered questions from the congregation. You can download a
copy of the report (Adobe PDF format) by clicking on the Resource
Assessment Report title above.
ECHO Jeans Drive
Pastor Brent Thalacker
displays some of the many pairs of jeans donated by the congregation of AbidingPresenceLutheranChurch to ECHO. The 75 pairs of jeans provided by the AP congregation were
collected to help meet the need for men's and boy's jeans. This AP initiative
was enthusiastically supported by Pastor Brent.
ECHO sometimes receives more clothing of some types
than their clients can use but not so with jeans. Jeans are always needed,
especially men's sizes 28-36.
ECHO communicates the needs of the community through
representatives at each of the member congregations. Currently there are 27
member congregations and Abiding Presence is one of the most active. Marty and
Roger Eisinger are the Congregational Reps at AP. Jane Curtis is the ECHO
leader for all of the Congregational Representatives.
